We manage all our properties in-house.
We are unique in that each residential estate has its own estate office with full time property management and maintenance teams. This ensures our residents’ issues are resolved in less than 24 hours. Our occupancy and renewal rates, which consistently surpass industry standards, serve as a clear indicator of the exceptional level of service that our residents experience.
Our commercial property managers oversee +-40 tenants each while the average for most other companies is +-200 tenants. This way, we can give each tenant a lot more time and attention and take care of the properties so that our tenants can focus on their businesses. Our commercial vacancy levels are generally in the range of 3%-5% in stark contrast to the industry norm of +-14%.

We always strive to be dynamic and forward thinking to better both society and the environment, Africrest was therefore one of the first South African property companies to have placed solar panels on the majority of our portfolio.
To date we have installed over 2,724 solar panels and it is estimated that since inception we have saved over:
- 2,787 tons of CO2.
- 7,183,000 litres of water.
- 3,707 equivalent of trees being planted.
We have also recycled over 6 662 675 litres polystyrene that was destined for landfill sites across Gauteng. This is equivalent to 556 fully loaded garbage trucks of Polystyrene packaging that has reached the end of its life cycle.
Most of our properties have the following green features:
- Water heat pump systems.
- Energy efficient light fittings.
- Waste sorting contractors to recycle all tenant refuse, over the last 12 months we have recycled over 60,000kg of waste.
- Water saving tap fittings.
- Water tank backup systems.
- Generator (electricity) backup systems.
